Biofuels – Ethanol

Biofuels are another type of fuel. Biofuels are made from living things and are renewable. Ethanol is the most common biofuel used for transportation. While it may seem as though ethanol is a newer fuel, it has actually been around for a long time. Henry Ford designed his first automobile to be capable of using ethanol as fuel, and this was over 100 years ago (Fuel Testers, 2006-2009)! The United States is the largest ethanol producer in the world and Brazil is the second largest (RFA, 2005-2010).
