Lesson Overview:Students will be introduced to the engineering design process through the development of a simple balloon rocket.  They will develop a prototype following specific criteria and constraints, test, and retest – and then connect how their process was similar to the engineering design process.  Once the students are hooked on engineering, they will be introduced to an array of engineering careers in a webquest. After completion, each student will be expected to prepare and deliver a PowerPoint presentation on a specific engineering career of interest.

Target Grade Level: 6-12 Science
